Show Me the Body, Tash Sultana, 156/silence and Quicksand announce NZ tour dates
Big week for live music with Show Me the Body hitting Wellington and Auckland this December. In 2027, 156/silence brings the chaos to Studio in January, followed by Quicksand at San Fran in February and Tash Sultana at the Powerstation in April. Also joining the summer schedule are K Motionz, Suzanne Ciani, and local favourites PARK RD.
It has been a busy week for tour announcements across Aotearoa, with a stacked calendar shaping up for the coming months. Fans of heavy, aggressive sounds have plenty to get excited about, with Show Me the Body set to bring their chaotic energy to Wellington’s San Fran and Auckland’s Tuning Fork late next year. Hardcore enthusiasts can also look forward to 156/silence hitting Studio in Auckland this January, while the legendary Quicksand will be making their return to Wellington, also at San Fran, in February.
For those looking for something a bit different, Tash Sultana has announced a show at The Powerstation in Auckland for April 2027. Electronic fans are well-catered for too, with K Motionz slated to play the TSB Arena in Wellington this February, and electronic pioneer Suzanne Ciani bringing her unique sound to the Hollywood Avondale in Auckland this November.
The local scene remains as vibrant as ever. PARK RD are hitting the road with dates in Christchurch, Wellington, and Auckland to round out the year. We also have shows from DARTZ in Lake Taupō and Ha The Unclear performing in Auckland and Christchurch.
While not the main bill, there is also plenty of room for variety this season:
- The Mary Wallopers bring their distinct Irish folk to the James Hay Theatre in Christchurch.
- Shonen Knife are bringing their classic Japanese punk-rock sound to Meow and Whammy Bar.
- Allegra Krieger will be performing at Whammy Bar and San Fran.
- Courtney Marie Andrews takes the stage at Double Whammy in December.
- Henry Saiz headlines at Hi-So Rooftop Bar in Auckland this November.
- Atomic are set for a high-energy jazz performance at San Fran.
- Horn brings atmospheric black metal to Wellington this November.
- Dave Dobbyn continues his run with a show at the Coroglen Tavern.
- Tape plays the Pyramid Club, and Gareth Thomas hits Space Academy.
- Afro Jazz are scheduled for a gig at Caretaker.
Finally, keep an eye out for smaller events and covers acts like Carli Oso, who will be playing at The Monkey House Theatre, and The Psychedelic Mixtape, who have a unique date lined up at the Stardome Observatory. Whether you are into heavy metal, folk, or experimental electronics, there is a gig somewhere in the country to keep you busy.
