I built GigJunkie because I kept hearing about gigs the morning after they happened.
I'm one person in New Zealand and this is a side project. There's no company behind it and no ads. It runs on a small budget and a lot of evenings.
Listings are collected automatically from the ticketing sites, then tidied up: the same show from two sources is shown once, artist names are matched up, and venues are pinned on a map. Some of that tidying uses language models, and they get things wrong now and then. Always check the date, venue and price on the ticketing site before you buy.

How it's funded
GigJunkie doesn't sell tickets. Every gig links straight to the site that does. Ticketmaster and Moshtix links are affiliate links: if you buy after clicking through, I get a small commission and you pay the same price. That, and the occasional coffee, is what keeps the site running.
