How does GigJunkie work?
GigJunkie collects gig listings from the main New Zealand ticketing sites and puts them in one place. Browse What's On by region, month or map, look up an artist or a venue, and when you find something you like, the ticket link takes you to the site selling it.
If you sign in, you can also follow artists and get an email when they announce a New Zealand date, save gigs to a shortlist, and see the upcoming gigs that match the artists you follow.
Where do the listings come from?
Ticketmaster, Eventfinda, Under the Radar and Humanitix. New listings are picked up several times a day. Artist names, venues and dates are tidied up so the same show from two sources is only shown once.
Can I trust the listing details?
Mostly, but not blindly. Listings change quickly and some of the tidying is done by software, including language models, which occasionally get a venue or a date wrong. Check the date, venue, lineup and price on the ticketing site before you travel or buy.
Do I need an account?
No. You can browse gigs, artists and venues without one.
An account adds followed artists, saved gigs and email alerts. Signing in is just an email address: I send you a link, you click it, and you're in. No password.
How do artist alerts work?
Follow an artist from your Followed Artists page. When a new NZ date for that artist shows up in the listings, you get an email. How often you hear from me is up to you in Alert settings.
Alerts only cover what the site can see. If a show is only announced on social media and never reaches a ticketing site, it won't trigger an alert.
Who runs GigJunkie?
One person, in New Zealand, in their spare time. There's no company behind it and no ads. More on the About page.
How can I support it?
Two ways, and neither costs you anything extra. Ticketmaster and Moshtix links on this site are affiliate links, so if you buy tickets after clicking through, I get a small commission. Or you can buy me a coffee.
Either one helps cover hosting and the email bill.
Does GigJunkie sell tickets?
No. Every gig links to the site that does, such as Ticketmaster, Moshtix, Eventfinda or Humanitix. Once you click through, their terms and privacy policies apply.
What do you do with my personal information?
As little as possible. If you have an account, that's your email address, the artists you follow, the gigs you save and your alert settings. I don't sell any of it. The full detail, including cookies and analytics, is in the privacy policy.
How do I get in touch?
Use the contact form for feedback, bug reports, missing gigs or privacy requests. I read everything that comes through it.
