UB40, PARTY, Cat Power, The Psychedelic Furs & La Dispute: New Tours
The live scene is heating up. Catch Bloc Party at Wellington’s El Horno (Aug 22), The Psychedelic Furs at Auckland’s Stardome (Aug 19), and La Dispute at Meow (Oct 27) and The Hollywood (Oct 28). It has been a busy week for gig announcements, with a serious mix of indie, post-punk, and heavy acts pencilled in for the coming months. Kicking things off, PARTY (Bloc Party) will be hitting El Horno in Wellington on August 22, 2026. Fans of the post-punk sound have plenty to look forward to, as The Psychedelic Furs bring their classic new wave energy to the Stardome Observatory & Planetarium in Auckland on August 19.
The heavy hitters don't stop there. La Dispute are locking in two nights, starting at MEOW in Wellington on October 27 before heading to The Hollywood Avondale on October 28. Further out, Faith No More and System Of A Down are set for a massive double-header at Hnry Stadium in Wellington on February 7, 2027. For those into the faster side of things, Propagandhi are slated for The Powerstation on February 6, 2027, and Paleface Swiss will bring their deathcore sound to the same venue on February 13, 2027.
If you’re after something a bit more stripped back, Cat Power is heading to the James Hay Theatre in Christchurch on November 28, and Dermot Kennedy will take the same stage on November 25. Agnes Obel is also scheduled for an Auckland performance at Ariki Hall on September 29.

On the local and covers front, Katchafire will be performing at the Ruakākā Tavern on August 28 and Stampede Bar & Grill on August 29. Keep in mind that tribute acts like Abbey Road are also hitting the road for those wanting a classic Beatles fix, playing The Stables in Matakana on September 18. Ash Grunwald is heading out on a regional tour through August and November, and Skram will be at San Fran on August 20. Whether it is big-name international icons or our own homegrown talent, there is no shortage of live music on the horizon.
