The Psychedelic Mixtape & BENEE Lead a Massive Week of Tour Announcements
This week’s tour drop is huge, headlined by the iconic The Psychedelic Mixtape and homegrown pop sensation BENEE. Fans can also look forward to electrifying sets from electronic heavyweights like John Summit, Netsky, and Luude, alongside hip-hop legend Buckshot and the cult-favourite Home Brew, with shows scheduled at iconic venues from the Stardome Observatory to the sun-soaked Waiohika Estate.
It has been a massive week for concert announcements, with a diverse spread of international icons and local favourites locking in dates across the country.
Leading the charge is The Psychedelic Mixtape, who have confirmed a unique performance at Auckland’s Stardome Observatory & Planetarium. It is a rare chance to see the post-punk veterans in such an intimate, celestial setting. On the local front, BENEE has announced a summer date at the Waiohika Estate Vineyard in Gisborne, a spot that is quickly becoming the hub for this season's biggest musical events.
The Gisborne stage will be particularly busy this year, hosting an impressive electronic contingent including John Summit, Netsky, Luude, and Mall Grab. Fans of bass-heavy rhythms should also keep an eye out for sets from Andromedik, 1991, KI/KI, and the hyperpop duo Frost Children. Local representation remains strong at the vineyard with TWOFACED, Sachi, Rova, and the legendary Dave Dobbyn all set to perform. The bill is rounded out by appearances from Vince Staples, Songer, oskar med k, Hamdi, Layton Giordani, Day We Ran, Arcando, A Little Sound, Lens, and Jackie Hollander.
For those who prefer a more urban club vibe, Buckshot is bringing his classic hip-hop sound to Wellington’s San Fran and the Tuning Fork in Auckland. Meanwhile, Home Brew has mapped out an extensive national tour, hitting Rotorua, Hamilton, Wellington, and Christchurch before wrapping up with a three-night residency at Auckland’s Hollywood Avondale.
Rounding out the touring circuit:
- Greentea Peng brings her soulful, psychedelic R&B to The Powerstation in Auckland this November.
- Old Mervs are set for a three-city run, stopping at Loons in Lyttelton, San Fran in Wellington, and Double Whammy in Auckland.
- Ash Grunwald is returning to play the Tuning Fork in Auckland, bringing his distinct blues-rock style to the stage.
- Joe Schmidt has announced an evening at the Ascot Park Hotel in Invercargill for those chasing a blend of contemporary and classical piano.
