Cat Power, Lorna Shore & Dermot Kennedy Announce New Zealand Tour Dates

A massive week for local live music. Cat Power heads to the Bruce Mason Centre and Wellington’s Opera House this November. Deathcore outfit Lorna Shore hits Shed 6 in Wellington on 26 October. Folk singer Dermot Kennedy tours Christchurch, Wellington, and Auckland in late November. Plus, Stephen Sanchez brings his pop sound to Auckland.

It has been an incredibly busy week for local concert promoters, with a diverse range of international acts locking in dates for their upcoming New Zealand runs. Fans of heavy music have plenty to look forward to, as Lorna Shore is set to bring their deathcore sound to Wellington’s Shed 6 this October. For those seeking even more intensity, Iron Maiden and Megadeth will share the stage at Spark Arena for two massive nights in November, while Avenged Sevenfold and Coheed and Cambria are confirmed for an Auckland showcase at the same venue in late October. Hard rock purists are also well-catered for, with Guns N' Roses and Airbourne set to take over Eden Park in December.

The singer-songwriter contingent is equally strong this season. Cat Power returns for intimate performances at the Bruce Mason Centre in Takapuna and The Opera House in Wellington this November. Dermot Kennedy also has a major run planned, hitting Christchurch, Wellington, and Auckland in late November, while rising star Stephen Sanchez brings his folk-pop sound to the Auckland Town Hall this July. We also see Ben Harper and Jack Johnson teaming up for dates in Auckland and the Waipara Winehouse, alongside Courtney Barnett appearing at the Michael Fowler Centre and Suzanne Vega playing the James Hay Theatre in Christchurch.

The nostalgia circuit remains lively, with The Human League slated for a 2027 tour of the Michael Fowler Centre and Christchurch Town Hall. Meanwhile, the Powerstation remains a hub for eclectic acts, hosting The Damned in September, August Burns Red and Killswitch Engage in October, and Saint Etienne in November.

Rounding out the announcements are several heavy hitters in the pop and hip-hop space. Post Malone and Don Toliver are bringing a massive show to Go Media Stadium in October, while Noah Kahan has scheduled two nights at Spark Arena. Joji and Tommy Richman will also share an Auckland date in November, shortly after Charlie Puth and Ashanti take to the Spark Arena and Kiri Te Kanawa Theatre stages, respectively. Rounding out the list, Alex Warren has announced a series of shows across Christchurch and Auckland. Tickets for these events are expected to be in high demand as these dates are finalised.
