The Psychedelic Mixtape, James, and The Veils announce NZ shows

A massive week for live music fans, with The Psychedelic Mixtape locking in a show at the Stardome, while James head to The Civic. The Veils are also touring, bringing their intense live set to Otago. From international legends to local favourites like TOI and Jan Hellriegel, here is the latest on the concert front.

It has been a busy week for tour announcements across the country. Fans of alternative sounds have plenty to get excited about, starting with The Psychedelic Mixtape, who are set to play a unique show at Auckland's Stardome Observatory & Planetarium on April 1, 2026. If you are after something a bit more melodic, James have confirmed an appearance at The Civic in Auckland on October 15, 2026, which is shaping up to be a highlight of the year.

For those keen on local talent with a global edge, The Veils are performing at the Pearl Diver in Otago on June 25, 2026. Known for their high-energy performances, Wellington’s own TOI are also hitting the road, with a gig at the Whitehaven Theatre in Marlborough on June 26, 2026. Meanwhile, Jan Hellriegel is playing the 4th Wall Theatre in Taranaki on the same night.

We have also seen a surge in tribute and community-focused events hitting the schedule. If you are in Taranaki on June 27, you can catch Saturday Night at the Movies, while fans of the Bee Gees can look forward to the Best of the Bee Gees shows in Takapuna Beach and Rotorua early next year.

Other notable upcoming gigs include:

  • Friends: ONEONESIX, Whangārei, June 26
  • Stereolab (UK) w/ Glass Vaults: Meow Nui, Wellington, June 24
  • CJC Creative Jazz Club: Miles Boermans Quintet: The Kingslander, Auckland, June 24
  • WBS Society night featuring Charlotte Yates: Abandoned Taproom Petone, June 26

Whether it is international acts or local sessions, make sure to get your tickets sorted early.
