Primus is an alternative metal band from San Francisco, California, formed in the mid-1980s by bassist Les Claypool and guitarist Todd Huth. Les Claypool is the only constant member, with various guitarists and drummers contributing to the band over the years. Their music defies easy categorization, but is often associated with the funk metal genre.
