Mortiis is a music project from Notodden, Norway fronted by Håvard Ellefsen. The name Mortiis is a misspelling of the word "mortis", which is the pronunciation used by the band. The project started as a solo endeavour by Ellefsen as a means to convey a story, which aspect was lost over time and Mortiis formed into a band.
