Gillian Welch & David Rawlings is the musical partnership of American singer-songwriter Gillian Welch and guitarist David Rawlings. Welch's musical style combines elements of bluegrass, neotraditional country, Americana, old time string band music and folk into a rustic style she dubs "American Primitive".
