Drax Project is a New Zealand jazz band from Wellington formed in 2013/14. The band's name is a portmanteau of 'drums' and 'sax', derived from the instruments played by Matt Beachen and Shaan Singh, who were the band's founding members. They began performing as buskers in Wellington in 2013.
