Del Amitri are a guitar-driven pop rock band from Glasgow, Scotland, formed in 1980 by Justin Currie (bass and vocals), James Scobbie (guitar and vocals), and Donald Bentley (guitar). They came together as teenagers in reaction to the rest of the 'rockers' in their school. The name "Del Amitri" was chosen deliberately, sounding a bit like someone's name.
