Bell Biv DeVoe is a spin-off group of New Edition, formed in the late '80s. The group consists of three previous New Edition members: Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins, and Ronnie DeVoe. They decided to make the break from New Edition official after completing the Heart Break tour. At the suggestion of producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, they chose to chart their own course.
