Saosin, Songwriters' Showcase #110 & August Burns Red Announced for NZ
This week’s tour updates bring massive news for local fans. **Saosin** are heading to Wellington and Christchurch, while **Songwriters' Showcase #110** takes over MOON. Looking further ahead, **August Burns Red** and **Noah Kahan** have confirmed dates for later in the year, alongside a packed schedule featuring **Courtney Barnett**, **Avenged Sevenfold**, and **Charlie Puth**.
It has been a busy week for gig announcements, with a solid mix of heavy hitters and intimate shows coming to our stages. Post-hardcore legends Saosin are set to hit the road this April, playing at San Fran in Wellington followed by a show at the Sydenham Underpass in Christchurch. If you prefer a different pace, Songwriters' Showcase #110 is also hitting Wellington at MOON, offering a great alternative to the heavier side of the touring circuit.
The latter half of the year is shaping up to be just as busy. August Burns Red have locked in dates for Wellington and Auckland in October, overlapping with the return of Noah Kahan who takes to Spark Arena. Metal fans have plenty to look forward to as well, with Avenged Sevenfold also playing Spark Arena later that month.
If you are after indie-rock, Courtney Barnett is touring in November, visiting Hamilton, Auckland, and Wellington. Pop fans will be well served too, with Charlie Puth performing at Spark Arena in early November.
There is a heap of local and niche talent filling out the calendar as well:
- Ulcerate will bring their death metal to Double Whammy in Auckland.
- Mei Semones and John Splithoff are both scheduled for the Tuning Fork.
- Fables has shows lined up in Hamilton and Dunedin.
- Greg Johnson performs in Christchurch this November.
- Powder Chutes take the stage at Valhalla, while Shayne P. Carter plays Waiheke Island.
It is a massive year for live music across the motu, so make sure to get your tickets early before the big venues sell out.
